Stanton Collemer had an idyllic childhood, growing up on a family farm in Lincolnville Beach. In 1980 he moved to South Florida part-time and began a career in hospitality at the renowned Breakers Hotel, making the move permanent in 1984. He began as a waiter and worked his way up to Room Service Manager.
Stanton took this work ethic along with him as he dedicated the next twenty-one years helping the less fortunate in Palm Beach County. In 1996 he joined Intracoastal Health Foundation benefiting Good Samaritan and St. Mary’s Hospital where he was responsible for raising $3 million a year. During his time at Intracoastal Health Foundation, he launched Diplomate Program for donors and raised funds for a special wing at Good Samaritan called the Newbern Suites to provide donors and patients with accommodations similar to a 5-star hotel.
In 2001 Stanton became one of five staff members to launch Palm Healthcare Foundation, Palm Beach County’s leading community foundation for health. During his tenure at Palm Healthcare Foundation, he created the Nurse Celebration with 750 attendees and helped launched H.O.W. (Hearing Ovarian Cancer Whisper) Luncheon, to raise awareness and funds for the disease with symptoms so quiet they are often overlooked until it is too late.
2010 brought Stanton to the Center for Family Services. In his time at the Center, he brought their fundraising to a new level, taking the annual fundraising from less than $1 million to $3.7 million. In 2016 he sought new challenges when he became the CEO of Cancer Alliance and Help & Hope. Within a year of his joining, Stanton took it from being a small, grassroots organization to a mainstream agency, nearly quadrupling its budget. Moreover, he launched the incredibly successful Shop the Day Away Luncheon™…one of the most fun and fabulous luncheons in Palm Beach.
He is past President and current President Elect for Palm Beach Flagler Rotary Club, Past President of Association of Fundraising Professionals, Past Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, and a Paul Harris Recipient. Stanton has received the Pope Frances Leadership Award from Catholic Charites Interfaith Health & Wellness and for the past two years Palm Beach Illustrated top 100 CEO’s in Palm Beach County. When not working, Stanton spends his time volunteering in the community he has come to call home.
