Kathy McKinnon

Dr. Kathy McKinnon has more than 29 years of nursing experience in adult and pediatric emergency rooms, pre-operative, post-operative, and outpatient surgery.

Dr. McKinnon is currently an associate nursing professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University and teaches undergraduate and graduate nursing courses. She graduated with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership, in December 2020. Prior to working at Palm Beach Atlantic University, she served as a chaplain at Good Samaritan Medical Center while pursuing a master’s degree in advanced holistic nursing.

Dr. McKinnon is a board member of Interfaith Health and Wellness and belongs to Golden Key International Honour Society and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She also serves as the faculty advisor for Nurses Christian Fellowship, Spiritual Life Council, and the Ethics and Grievance Committee for Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Dr. McKinnon hosts prayer services and community outreach events and encourages and inspires others by giving them hope through her testimony of how God healed and saved her through her battle with breast and thyroid cancer. She has a son, Townsend, who will attend Notre Dame’s Mendoza Business School and serve in the Army ROTC program in the Fall of 2022.
